“We still have US service members throughout the world, in harms way, that are going to rely on this aircraft again. And that’s what disheartens me, that’s what scares me, and thats what I’m mad about . . . that we haven’t fixed a problem that could potentially kill more of our service members.”
The people of VA-07 cannot afford to live. Grocery prices are too high, gas is unaffordable, and inflation is causing goods and services to become more expensive, which only hurts the consumer. I will work to lower taxes, eliminate wasteful government spending, and reduce unnecessary and overburdensome regulations, all of which will reduce the expensive burdens on businesses and the consumer and put more money in your pockets.

The crisis at our southern border is impacting VA-07 every single day. The fentanyl crisis destroying our communities and spreading our law enforcement too thin is directly related to the open border. Crime has increased and our national security is under threat – recently two people of Jordanian descent in the country illegally tried to breach the front gates of Quantico. Everyday taxpayer services are being allocated to people in the country illegally, rather than the taxpayers who have paid for them. We must secure the border by giving our Border Patrol and DHS personnel the resources they need. Just like Presidents Obama and Trump did, we need to continue to build the wall.

While serving in Afghanistan as a Special Forces Green Beret, Derrick lost five of his guys during the worst friendly fire incident of the war. Derrick has spent his entire adult life serving his nation, whether be in our military, our federal courts, and now he wants to serve again and represent the people and the place that raised him.
I grew up without health care relying on local clinics for my care. My mother owned local small businesses in the district, and could not afford health care. Today, the best possible health care Americans, and those in VA-07, can get is through their employer. We must protect it at all costs, make it more affordable for businesses and families, and we should not restrict anyone from health care coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Social Security and Medicare are unsustainable, yet Americans are owed it, and they will receive it. However, we must come to the table to find bi-partisan solutions to make sure it is available to future generations who are currently paying into it.
